Nueva herramienta para la operación económica en una planta de desulfuración húmeda de los gases de combustión
Abstract
Large coal combustion plants must ensure that
their emissions comply with the emission limit
values set by the prevailing legislation. In this
paper, we study flue gas desulphurisation at the
Puente Nuevo Power Plant (330 MW, Spain).
The objective is to optimise energy and reagent
consumption. The results were obtained at
industrial scale using the following variables: pH,
liquid absorbent flow, flue gas flow, residence
time in the absorber, and energy consumption
associated with the process developing a new
tool for use as an operation protocol that
allows to economize the process in wet flue gas
desulphurization plants of optimum and safety
form. The study was carried out taking into
account compliance with the current emission
limit values established under Spain’s National
Emission Reduction Plan for Large Combustion
Plants and with a view to stricter legislation in
the future.
