Encuesta sobre el estado del mantenimiento industrial en España
Abstract
Several authors insist on the fact that maintenance is a key activity in industry. In this context, plant maintenance decision making is extremely important because of its economic consequences. Thus, many authors try to establish direct links between maintenance decision making and money through improvement or optimization approaches. Nevertheless, the applications of such initiatives in industrial plants may be scarce. With this background conditions, the goal of this research is to analyze the status of industrial maintenance management. The study also focuses on the application level of models which are focused on translating maintenance terms into economic expressions. The paper analyses the current status of the subject in Spanish organizations through a questionnaire of 135 industrial plant respondents. Results indicate that a clear gap between theoretical works developed by researchers and practical tools used to manage maintenance exists. The presented research is also useful to pinpoint guiding principles for researchers in order to develop tools and techniques that are going to be useful for maintenance practitioners
