Abstract

The idea consists of a device to desalinate water of sea taking advantage of the existing pressure in the depths and that allows an important saving of energy using a system of sand ballast. The device consists basically of a submersible vessel to store the sweet obtained water, a system of desalination by inverse osmosis, deposits to store the sand ballast and floaters who allow that the set should emerge after giving up the ballast. The operation consists of plunging the device loading with sand the ballasts up to obtaining a suitable depth, filtering the sea water by means of the osmotic membrane up to filling the vessel and recovering the device that emerges after giving up the ballast.
