Abstract

Evolution of Electronics associated to

the automobile is characterized by a

fort increase in the number of appli

cations and the capacities of control

that are attributed to it from the be

ginnings of this relation, more than

twenty years ago. Technological de

velopment in this field is a double

edged sword for the manufacturers,

who must value the capacity to

supply new functionalities and servi

ces to the users without risking in the

increase of failures in the vehicles. At

the present article the current state

of the automotive electronic techno

logy is reviewed, the future tenden

cies for this field are considered and

the influence of the innovative model

over the business development of

this sector is argued.
