Abstract

Sensing systems based on energy harvesting are

very attractive both for users and developers

given their energy autonomy, avoiding the use of

batteries that need replacing.

This article analyzes some of the basic

considerations for the design of self-powered,

ambient energy based electronic systems and a

practical application example is given.

The article analyzes the way in which energy

harvesting technology and ultra- low-power

electronics can promote the development of the

Internet of things, showing its technological

relevance for the future.
