Optimize Supply Chain Network Design to Reduce Carbon Footprint
Abstract
This study explores effective strategies for optimizing supplychain networks, specifically targeting the reduction of industrialcarbon emissions. As global climate change concerns intensify, industrial sectors are increasingly motivated to mitigate thenegative environmental impacts of their operations. This paperpresents a new framework for enhancing supply chain efficiencyby strategically reducing carbon emissions. We introduce theAdaptive Carbon Emissions Indexing (ACEI), which leverages real-time carbon emissions data to make immediate adjustments tosupply chain activities. This adaptability is crucial given evolvingenvironmental regulations, fluctuating market trends, andtechnological advancements. Our empirical validationdemonstrates the effectiveness of our strategy across variousindustrial sectors, showing a substantial decrease in carbonemissions and improved operational efficiency. Additionally, ourapproach proves resilient in the face of unforeseen disruptions andcrises, highlighting its robustness and adaptability.
