Abstract

We hereby provide a theoretical approach and solution to the calculation of wave power generation possibilities, whilst ascertaining that the energy and other related parameters of each individual wave is a function of its height exclusively. The obtained numerical outcome proves compatible with most commonly used formulations.

All below cited authors often come across logical simplifications when it comes to wave power and energy complex calculations. These computations have been contrasted against our coherent and innovative formulation, which seek to treat each wave individually while assuming same sinusoidal profile, without wind and ocean currents. Furthermore, sand waves generation or ripple marks are described.

This suggested process on wave generation and propagation allows us to make use of turbines as they are directly powered by waves, through a new device capable of extracting energy not only from waves but also from rivers or tides. This exposed theory has been flawlessly supported by tests in the lab and on high seas and breakers
