Abstract

This study presents a compact intervention, search and rescue equipment designed and developed to achieve an improvement in ergonomics and safety in working procedures within confined spaces (CCEE), and so avoid accidents at work. In these places are a number of risks such as mechanical and electrical, produced by equipment used in this space, trapping, shocks, bumps, and falls from same level, falling objects, poor posture, aggressive environment (heat, noise, poor lighting), poor communication with the outside, etc. Some of this place stays closed for long periods of time by which toxic substances like hydrogen sulphide (H2S) may accumulate inside. They can also accumulate fl ammable gases such as methane (CH4) and ethane (C2H6), unlike others, we can´t detect them by smell. Through this compact equipment, access can be easily provided to the quick handling of the full set of devices needed for CCEE intervention, allowing continuous communication between workers inside and outside to avoid risky situations, and in case that they are produced to be able to intervene to rescue the operator if necessary.
