THE LIPOATROPHY SEMICIRCULARIS, A NEW EMERGINGOCCUPATIONAL DISEASE?
Abstract
It is a disease characterized by an atrophy of subcutaneous fat tissue, painless, being the skin and muscle intact, localized preferentially in the region axle-side of the thigh, and may be unilateral or bilateral and affecting mostly young women. It does not require medical treatment, to return to normalcy in all cases. It has been observed with greater frequency in modern buildings. The cause is not yet well clarified but is believed related to the low humidity and static electricity existing in the seat of work.
