Abstract

New european standards regarding

energy efficiency and sustainability in

Buildings, together with the current

demand for new housing, the increa

sing cost of the traditional building

systems and the forecast of refur

bishment works for the upcoming ye

ars, makes it necessary to provide

new solutions for housing which ful

fil those regulatory requirements.

This paper briefly presents the euro

pean state of the art regarding new

steel-intensive industrialised solu

tions for housing. Finally, a reflection

is made on the implementation of

these systems in Spain.
