Un nuevo método para la toma de decisiones estratégicas basado en la madurez en dirección de proyectos
Abstract
This paper presents a novel method for strategic decision
making based on project management maturity of the
companies, that is, based on the competences and
procedures an organization has to execute projects. It is
assumed that the higher the project management maturity
(PMM) level is, the higher the performance of projects is,
but a high PMM level requires investment. So far, none of
the models of the literature consider these three aspects:
(1) the maturity level of the major stakeholders (client
and contractor); (2) project complexity and (3) project
success. In this paper we go a step forward and investigate
the relationship between those aspects. As a result of this
research, we present a novel method that considers the
mentioned three aspects and we describe its application
methodology. We have applied our model in qualitative
research studies with satisfactory results regardless the
maturity level of the companies. Moreover, when the trust
among the client and the contractor is low, the method
provides additional information for decision making when
facing a new business opportunity. Hence, our method is
useful, especially in those situations.
